Pierre Chareau

(Bordeaux, 4th August 1883 – New York, 24th August 1950) 
was a Frech designer and architect, author of the famous Glass House.
He studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris from 1900 to 1908. 
Member of the Union des artistes modernes (1929), he was close to Le Corbusier’s ideas and realized La Maison de Verre with a prevalent use of glass and steel.
His furniture is characterized by simple and sober shapes and is made of noble materials and perfect finishes.
Emigrated to the United States in 1940, he worked mainly in interior architecture.
