Isamu Noguchi

Son of a Japanese poet and an American writer, born in Los Angeles and grew up in Japan until he was 14, Isamu Noguchi had been able to combine the eastern and western culture.
In his youth he apprenticed with Gutzon Borglum, the author of the  of the gigantic portraits of the American presidents carved into Mount Rushmore.
In the 30s he often travelled to the Far East.
In 1968, on the occasion of the XI Festival of Two Worlds, he presented his project: a game for children and at the same time a work of art: concrete painted in red.
Noguchi worked with different materials: bronze, wood, marble, granite, paper, bone and wire and has ranged between sculpture, architecture, design and scenography.
